Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Iβve been seeing Beacon Doughnuts all over Instagram and finally decided to try it. Itβs tucked right in the middle of an alley, which makes it feel even more hidden, but donβt let that fool you. This was one of the softest donuts Iβve had. The lady at the front was super nice and gave me some recommendations, and we ended up getting the Chocolate Glazed Brioche. And wowβ¦ this donut was huge. Super soft on the inside, almost pillowy, and covered in a thick layer of chocolate glaze. First bite, you get that rich chocolate flavor right away, smooth and sweet without tasting fake or overly sugary. The brioche itself had that buttery flavor to it, light but still filling. The texture was probably the best part. Soft center, slight chew from the brioche, and the glaze added just enough thickness on top to make every bite feel rich. Honestly, it was almost too much for one person, but in the best way possible. Definitely lived up to the hype for me.

This is my favorite donut spot in Chicago! We first explored Beacon with our vegan family members. Iβll tell anyone that asks that these donuts are so delicious and youβd never even know they were vegan. We get them every time our family comes in townβ¦and now even more because we donβt have the patience to wait between visits! πIt is definitely worth the drive from Rogers Park! The cronut and apple fritter are our favorite but we love trying out whatever is new on the rotation! Highly recommend to anyone who wants delicious donuts! I recommend that you order in advance to make sure you can get a dozen because anything less than that is not enough

This place is such a gem! I was briefly in Chicago for a trip and saw that this place had vegan donuts. I havenβt had a fried donut in years due to being vegan in an area with limited options. My expectations were exceeded! I went here on my first day in Chicago, and then again on my way out, despite it being out of the way. The Boston CrΓ¨me donut was my absolute favorite, but the Apple Fritter and Cinnamon Coffee Cake were great too.

These may be the greatest doughnuts in the entire world. Beacon Doughnuts only serves vegan doughnuts, which you would never guess. Their shop is tucked away in a little alley and has no seating. I recommend ordering online in advance to make sure you get all your desired flavors, but I promise every item here will blow you away. To start, every good doughnut shop must have a simple raised glazed down, and Beaconβs did not fall short. It was so light and airy. Also, itβs genuinely massive, which no one can complain about. They had a wonderful apple fritter as well. Hit all the marks with jammy granny smith apples and a cinnamon flare. Crunchy on the outside and not too gooey, which I prefer. The Boston cream was unlike any I have had before. It was topped with rich dark chocolate ganache frosting and cocoa powder, but the inner cream was the star of the show. This isnβt the type of Boston cream that leaves you wishing for more since incredible custard is bursting throughout the entire doughnut. The blueberry pancake is another fan favorite for good reason. The cake doughnut base is soft and moist, and the whole ring is stuffed with fresh blueberry jam. With the powdered sugar and m

Absolutely the best donuts in Chicago!! These donuts are made to perfection, no questions about it. They are super tasty and always fresh! My favorite is the glazed donut, it might be the best glazed donut in the world. Please don't ever switch or change how you make your donuts and never sell out. Continue to be unique and deliver exceptional quality. My to go orders are always boxed up so nicely and sealed, they pay attention to detail for sure. Try these donuts, you won't be disappointed!!
